Full Drain System Upgrade for a Residential Home
At Mathis Plumbing & Heating Co., Inc., we recently completed a full drain system upgrade for a residential home. Our team removed all accessible cast iron and copper drain lines and rebuilt the system using durable, high-quality PVC piping.
We installed a new 4" PVC main line from outside the home to underneath the foundation, along with new 2" and 3" PVC drains throughout the crawl space. The project included installing a new flange, master traps, and a dedicated drain line for the laundry area.
All piping was securely strapped and properly graded to ensure optimal flow and long-term performance. New drop connections were added to each fixture (excluding the shower, which already had PVC), and we improved drainage efficiency by repositioning a 2" line closer to the shower.
To complete the job, we backfilled all excavated areas, buried and secured the main sewer line, and sealed the foundation opening with hydraulic cement for a clean, durable finish.
